Watchdogs, HD6990

So I got watchdogs with my new GTX 760 for my secondary PC but I want to run it on both. So I download it last night and go to start playing...

 

Click install, all goes well, starts to boot the game. BsoD.

I reboot my machine, and go to launch it again wondering if it was a one time thing, it launches this time into full screen, immediately freezes and then crashes to desktop.

I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

(I know about all the other problems with the game.)

Is there a problem with running the game at higher than 1080p resolutions?

 

I am running 8 gb Gskill ram, HD6990, i5 2320, some cheapo Asus H61 mobo and a Xstar 1440p monitor.

im guessing the 1440p might be the problem ? try on a 1080p monitor

I think the only one available is 1050p but that should be fine to test. Good plan.

at least it will eliminate if its the monitor

Yeah, or it will be just as bad because it wasn't designed for a monitor that is a few pixels off from 1080 lol.

Have you overclocked your CPU or GPU? It might be too high and causing the BSoD

haha or that. ive given up on watchdogs to much problems

I cannot overclock the CPU in this system and I do OC the GPU but to a tested stable level and only in winter. It cannot be an overclock though as it is crashing before the game is even trying to render anything.

sounds to me that theres something like game files etc. i dont think its a OC or hardware problem

Yeah possibly. It would be easy enough to check if it were on steam buuut Uplay is a hunk of junk and I have no idea how to check the game files with it...
