My philosophy is don't buy gaming headphones, buy studio headphones

That's what this is about its from head-fi a audiophile website were they actually review headphones and figure out which one is best for gaming like sound positioning and stuff like that. These aren't gaming headsets for the most part.

Hence why i always recommend the AD700s when it comes to positional audio. They are just to good for the money but do make sacrifices in other areas.

I dont get why he penalizes the DT770 pro for having too much bass. I have them and bass is awesome and paired with an STX if i found that bass was too much i could just lower it in the EQ, just my opinion,

I dont get why he penalizes the DT770 pro for having too much bass. I have them and bass is awesome and paired with an STX if i found that bass was too much i could just lower it in the EQ, just my opinion,  

 

From a competetive gaming perspective too much bass can be a bad thing.

True, but you wouldnt be pairing a high impedance headphone with a console, if you had them hooked to a pc then you could use the EQ, then again you could buy some more expensive/better headphones

Audio is subjective to who is doing the review to a certain degree imo. What some like others don't...
