My PC is staring to age been upgrading it slowly since i built it in 2017. I am wanting to upgrade and get rid of my aging bootdrive (like 10yr old now) and want a motherboard with more m.2 slots so i can also get rid of my hard drive too. I am fine keeping my current case, power supply and GPU. 

I was thinking of switching to AMD and going AM5 with a 6700x or 7700 or maybe AM4 with a 5700x3d. I am also open to getting a new motherboard that is compatible with my current CPU if it has more m.2 slots(z390?). Id be happy with any and all suggestions on my build in general. Thank you

What is the pc struggling with now? That would be the best way to approach the upgrade from.

Storage is my biggest problem right now having to delete games to install new ones. i have just always been told the nvme ssd are the best and my current motherboard doesn't have room for more. Are nvme to pcie cards worth it? or would there be an impact on my GPU due to more PCIe lanes being used?

ssd to m.2 is not that much faster. for low hardware it is fast but normal stuff probly not.

if you did have an m.2 you want the os and game installed on it to benefit from the stopped witch you run out of space installing all the games.
