They're quite similar, 6800 bit more rich in hardware 7700 XT bit more better because of newer architecture comparatively,

They are even on average basically, but the slight or moderate advantage of either will depend on what game and settings you use.

Budget (including currency): 4000AED

Country: United Arab Emirates

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Competitive games and Triple A games at 1440p

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I'm planning to pick a Graphics Card for my first build. I have  4000AED (1,089USD) budget. My choices are RX 6800 and RX 7700XT. My problem is that I cant really pick. Do I wait for the new GPU's to come out?, I don't edit or do work related just games but at the same time the new GPU's are coming out so the 6800 will be 2 generations older now. I know the 6800 will have more VRAM and games these days does require more VRAM. So please help

You could wait if you want,

6800 isn't bad, especially thanks to the extra VRAM it has, not that more means better it just means it's less likely to run out of it..

Yeah, I would get the 6800 because of the VRAM, slight performance increase, and price. You could also wait for new gpus...
