Very confused, My pc has started to exibit a strange behaviour in the last couple of weeks, the LAN ?internet icon on the task bar has suddenly taken to blinking and takes quite a few seconds to load a stable connection. at the same time google chrome started take a few seonds (once open) to load the word google with the search bar below. i did a fresh install of windows thinking something was corupt, all seemed fine, now its started again. both issues are new as everything used to be instantanious. I stoped evrything loading on start but makes no difference to the Lan connection behaviour or Google Any one any ideas

Internet 1GB connection up and down, that has tested fine

I run total av always have

I have never upgraded bios since building in 2022 (if it aint broke dont fix it)

I have tried the latest drivers for the board from msi same result.

Interesting decision given, you know, all of the bad stuff they do

But you do you

First step, have you powercycled your router and any switches between it and your PC? Could be that it's got some soft errors.
Have you tried a new ethernet cable? Cables can die. Somehow. Always worth a cable swap when troubleshooting
Do you have a lot of devices on your network? This can cause a crummy router to overload/overheat which can drop connections. One cheap solution would be to strap a case fan to it (you can get wall power to fan header things on Amazon)

Yeah so remove that and run malwarebytes.

Totalav is a fake anti virus from a VERY WELL KNOWN group that MAKES VIRUSES AND MALWARE. They are a VERY WELL KNOWN SCAM.

So yeah remove that from the pc ASAP. Wouldn't be too surprised if that is not helping here.

You might also just have a broken ethernet cable or one that is flaky. But well I'd start with removing an obvious issue to see what that does. Considering a fresh install helped before the total av could properly infect all of the system I'd say it will probably be causing issues.

I have tried just about every anti-virus there is and after doing all that, I have decided to not even use a "bought" anti-virus and I just use the built-in anti-virus of Microsoft Defender.  People have their own opinions and that's fine, but I have not had a single issue with any virus of any kind while using it.  To each his own.

Take care and good luck.

Microsoft Defender

It's genuinly pretty good and indeed everyone has their own opinions.

However totalav is legit a scam as the company behind it is a known maker of adware/malware and totalav is euhh less than clean. Also they do the typical uncancelled able subscription scam bs to heaps of users. So yeah hence my recommendation.

Thanks will give it go after some of the other suggestions, like changing cable, reboot evrything etc.
