Probably the FX 8320, the intel 4570 isn't part of the K editions so it cannot be @Askew oc'ed like the FX 8320

I'd get a 'K' model i5 personally if possible.

He might not be overclocking

Yea, I'd go for the intel processor.

If you're going to overclock, get the 4670k.

If not, stick with the non k, and maybe go for the 4690.

Make sure you get a compatible motherboard too of course.

Hope this helps! :)

I would go the 8320 stretch for the 8350 as you will generally get better clocks...Get a 990fx board as well.

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

That build looks good on it's own mate, if you are wanting to sli I would get a 750/850w psu otherwise thats a solid build. Personally I would get a R9 290.

It helps, but I can't find a 4690 on pcpartpicker

You could:

- Get a i5-4590 + H97/Z97 board if you don't want to overclock

- Get a i5-4670K + Z97 board if you want to overclock

- Get a FX 8320 + good 990FX board (emphasis on GOOD 990FX BOARD, not a cheap <$80 board) if you want to push the AMD, which will do just fine.

@ItxCrow it's probably better if you tell us what form factor you prefer, if you want anything other than ATX, then AMD is out of the question. AMD only has FM2+ mini-ITX boards, and their AM3+ micro-ATX boards are trash.

I'm 99% sure that Haswell Core i is still capable of partial OC. So take the 4590 for example (which by the way is an extremely good CPU, the 4690 is really not worth it). Its official spec says 3.3 GHz base up to 3.7 GHz turbo max.

3.7 GHz 1-core turbo max

3.7 GHz 2-core turbo max

3.6 GHz 3-core turbo max

3.5 GHz 4-core turbo max

But taking advantage of partial OC on a Z97 board will theoretically get you to

4.1 GHz 1-core turbo max

4.1 GHz 2-core turbo max

4.0 GHz 3-core turbo max

3.9 GHz 4-core turbo max.

Well the extreme 4 or 9 will suffice any thing that has good capacitors

I'm sure that ASrock uses well-rated and reliable caps

Can't say the same thing for their VRMs because all those phases really don't mean anything when ASRock is using D-paks for mosfets and ordinary chokes

The Extreme9 looks like a solid choice.

First off, grab a 290 they are way cheaper and perform the same. Second take the money you saved from that and get a i5 4670k. 3rd Rape noobs online and laugh at console peasants.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9290aedbd Is this 290 Good ?? or this one http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr929oc4gd ??? or link me another one. It has to be under 500$  On AMAZON, Newegg and stuff don't send in the netherlands

The XFX is probably the only custom-cooled 290 under $500.

Otherwise, the Asus DCII goes for $530

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-r9290dc2oc4gd5

and the TF4 goes for $560

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-912v308002

Both the asus and msi should offer better acoustics/temps balance than the XFX

I think I'll go for the XFX, since it's on Amazon and it's cheaper
