Why should u use Ubuntu ?

Go to solution Solved by Volbet,

It's very lightweight, meaning that it will run on lighter hardware than Windows usually will.

It's open souce and highly customizable.

But the main advantage is that it's free.

Pros of linux in general

-More Stable

-More Secure

-More Modular/Configurable

-More Efficient

Cons

-Harder to use (getting close to windows with ubuntu and mint though)

-Lack of Commercial Software

It is just a better OS than Windows, the problem is that due to lack of users there is not as much of support for drivers and programs compared to windows, but it is getting better

Thats the reason it is lacking on the desktop but dominates in the Server market

Personally for me because of these reasons

My primary Desktop OS is Windows

My primary Server OS is Linux

Main PC: CPU: i7-4770k RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX Blu SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB HDD: 1TB WD Blue GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 770 2GB PSU: Corsair CX600M Case: Bitfenix Shinobi OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

Laptop: ASUS N56VJ

thanks for the fast reply i think i am gonna try it on my laptop :)

If you are just looking for lightweight option for general use, Mint would be even better. But if you aim to do gaming with either Wine or Steam, Ubuntu has less issues.
