Budget (including currency): basically the price that its at right now

Country: netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk, r6, cs2, subnautica 2, sea of thieves, ark survival ascended/survival at 1440p

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

This is the system my friend wants to build, and just wanted to ask whether its a good build, this past week his budget has gone from 1200 tot 2000~ and he really doesnt want to change stuff about this build, i recommended he get a 7700x instead of the x3d and go air cooling and maybe get a normal 4070 super to push the price down to 1600 but he has his mind set on this

What do y'all think?

If he has his mind set on this then it doesn't really matter what we think now does it?

I would change the motherboard as a Micro ATX motherboard will look a bit weird in the larger case.

The NZXT Kraken 360 is very overkill for the 7800X3D and he could get away with a 30-40 cooler.

Other than that, its alright 🙂

If hes going aircooling and keeping all else the same, go for this (the option i recommend)

It doesnt, i just like discussing these kind of things and just talking about it, i want to learn a lot more about building pcs and ofcourse asking people to rate builds and give their opinions about it can help me learn new things

And this psu at this wattage is good? Also should have the right connection right?

The MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 is plenty enough for that system!

I use a 750w myself on a overclocked 7700x and overclocked RTX 4080, I see around 400-450w full system power draw during heavy gaming.

I could in theory get away with a solid 550w.

The MSI PSU will also have the correct cables.

All good 🙂

For gaming, the 7800X3D is a no-brainer, especially at this sort of budget.... your build was listed as €2070 if you wanted to get the build properly below €2000, then there are a couple of tweaks I'd recommend:

Memory that has the same spec, arguably from a manufacturer with a better reputation AND cheaper!

A 280mm cooler is almost as effective as a 360mm and much quieter as 140mm fans are substantially more efficient than 120mm.... and the Arctic Freezers have VRM coolers, which are arguably more important than CPU cooler 🙂 There is also a 360mm Arctic Freezer III at about the same price, but I'd recommend the 280mm unless there's a problem with it fitting in the case... and with the Montech Air 903 Max, there is NO problem!

That will be a very good build!

The Corsair RMe PSU is a great one as well 🙂  750w is plenty enough for this build.  850w is more 'futureproof'.

You could actually get away with a solid 550w for this build but going a bit up in wattage is great.

The NZXT Kraken 360 RGB AIO is quite expensive but this is totally up to you if you feel comfortable spending that.

Rest looks great.

Remember to update the BIOS on the motherboard.
