Clarifying some Z97 features

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

Yes the new features will work with a 4670k, they are backward compatible. And the motherboard you saw with sata-E was z97

Do not hesitate to buy a z97 motherboard :)

Hey there.
I'm wanting to write a speech on the new Z97 chip-set, outlining its features.

Now before I ask: I do understand what M.2 and SATA Express is, so people do not harass me in the answers section.

I was wondering if you put lets say a 4670K into a Z97 board, will SATA Express and M.2 be available to be used?

There have been some subtle hints due to the ASUS ROG boards from Z87 had a M.2 Connector?
I saw at CES or ComputeX last year that ASUS also had a SATA Express connector on a Z87 board or was that for the upcoming Z97?

Thanks for reading

I hope I can get a definite reply soon as I dont want to go out there and buy these new products just for a quick question  :P

I  understand a 4670k will work fine in the Z97 board as they have the same socket, but will those features work if you put an older cpu in the new board?
