12vhpwr connector question.

Go to solution Solved by keskparane,

EDIT: I don't think type 4 and 5 cables are interchangeable.

Hi!

I have a RMX 850w PSU, this does not come with a 12vhpwr cable. It has 2 PCIE cables instead,

Would I be able to use a 12vhpwr cable from a RMX Shift PSU that my friend has?

Currently my PCIE cables are being pressed against my case glass, they are pretty tough cables and I am unsure if it will be fine to keep them pressing against the glass.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

No.

Corsair type 5 uses a smaller connector than Type 4. They are physically incompatible.

The Declaration of Independence, once the charter of democracy, begins by saying that certain things are self-evident. If we were to trace the history of the American mind from Thomas Jefferson to William James, we should find that fewer and fewer things were self-evident, until at last hardly anything is self-evident. Not sure I'd trust any of those after the Cablemods fiasco.

The Corsair Type 4 Premium cables are really nice as they are flexible so you end up with a nicer/safer bend radius at the GPU.

They made better ones since, and not only Cablemods make them, but Thermal Grizzly too and those are reliable (if expensive)

Even Thermal Grizzly admit they are potentially more prone to issues than a plain cable, although I don't think they have experienced any problems so far.
