I want to know, what does tri x mean? Does it necessarily mean more performance or less heat? If not, should I get the bf4 version of sapphire r9 290?

Also, if your just gaming  Iwould reccomend a 4670k or 4690k when it comes out.

Please don't listen to the recycled garbage that comes out of some peoples mouths.

Yes, the reference cooled 290 and X we're hot and loud, all of the third party cooling solutions have rectified that.

The Tri-X runs 25c cooler and has a higher clock right out of the box.

No the tri-x is much faster because it doesn't have to throttle under load. And you can overclock it for even better performance. Did I mention its 25 friggin degrees cooler ?

You should get the PowerColor PCS+ R9 290. Cooler, faster, and better looking
