I've been trying to find info on this over the last day or two but finding information on Google is impossible nowadays and asking the pi forums results in one suggestion and the thread being locked.

So to start off wanting to install a pi 5 with LineageOS, a 2.1" round touchscreen, and a OBD2-usb adapter running torque pro I want to display engine parameters on the screen as a smart gauge almost.

Trying to make something similar to the Banks iDash, but not requiring a canbus. Additionally using the little pillar mounted gauge for navigation would also be kind of neat imo so I don't want to just run a basic os to just read the OBD2.

What if like to know is how viable is something like this, I have ZERO pi experience, tried to build my own Arduino mega 3d printer but the programming for that was beyond me.

Suggestions for parts, alternatives, or help are greatly appreciated.

For clarification,

This is for a 1992 Sonoma using a 2002 Silverado ECU. So like android auto head units are out, and the banks idash I already have is not compatible with the serial data the ECU uses.
