I don't know, how would I check?

Typically it will say the bios version and the make and model of the board in the information tab or page within the bios. Honestly I'd just update it regardless.

If you have never updated a motherboard bios before please let us know so we can link you the proper guide on how to do it.

Also if you haven't already confirmed it's not just faulty hardware, I would do that first. You'll want to try both sticks separately, i.e. testing one at a time to verify both sticks are working, just to rule out one of the sticks being faulty. Once that is confirmed that both are working I would test one stick in each ram slot individually. That would rule out the slots on the board being faulty. Once that is done and you have confirmed it isn't a hardware issue, then I'd update the bios. Only recommending it so you don't update the bios and then have the same issue and go down a rabbit hole of diagnostics and troubleshooting when it was just a hardware problem the whole time.

Haven't updated a bios before and it's not the sticks or the slots

Make sure you are using a flashdrive formatted in Fat32 with nothing else on it.

You'll download the file from here:

https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-x670e-plus-wifi/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=TUF-GAMING-X670E-PLUS-WIFI

Then follow this guide:

*Disclaimer* If you are not comfortable doing this process yourself, don't. Take it to someone who knows how or is comfortable with it. Usually repair shops won't charge a whole lot to do it.

Ok, what do I do if I did all that, and it says it's an invalid bios file?

Did you rename it? If you did I would copy the file over to the USB without renaming it. Then try again, sometimes they don't need to be renamed if you are using the EZ Flash utility.

It renamed itself

If you run the re-namer yes, it will automatically rename itself.

You need to redownload the bios file from the link again then copy the .cap file to the flash drive first, without running the re-naming application.
