Yes, according to Intel everything is fixed.   When buying new, of course.  If you have INtel, you may still need to take care of your CPU.

ZTT is one of the many tech YouTubers I think are trustable. I wouldn't really suggest buying Intel right now, as they're busy working on a completely new line-up of CPUs, which will be on a new socket. I suggest waiting out until they release them if you want to go back to Intel that badly.

Most of the time, I'd still recommend AM4/AM5 for PCs, or older Intel sockets (i.e. Skylake through Coffee Lake), depending on your budget or if you are willing to go used.

Don't tell me to upgrade. I would've done so if I could.

We won't know for certain until months down the line.

Intel claims they found the root cause. Maybe they did. Only long-term testing of new CPUs that haven't already degraded will show for certain.

Test results will probably be confused by people who have CPUs that are already degraded, reporting that the fix didn't work for them (which it can't)

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

im not watching that tik tok.

But even though im 95% convinced its fixed with 12B, we dont have the data to back it up. So while I wont push to avoid intel as a whole now with 12B out, I still wont advocate for it.

Also. this does not and can not fix CPUs that have already degraded.

I always feel like this kind of take is always disingenuous. We are all capable of doing analysis. and some of the smartest no-intel computer and electrical engineering technicians have done quite a bit.

This appears to be a root cause, and it appears to have been correctly addressed with 129 and 12B, not just as per intel . If there are other issues, we cant know until we know.

I dont see any reason to avoid new 13th/14th with 0x12B. Like I said, I wont push people to it, but I dont see a reason to avoid it.

the thing is regardless of who says what (not that i would trust them anyways)  you'd need to wait a year or longer to see if the issues are really fixed  - at that point might as well jump onto "15th" gen, except you really just need a CPU for a year or so ... i mean those people exist,  buy a new phone, a new car, a new cpu every year ... but that's not something i personally endorse,  i pitty them tbh, whole life driven by consumerism,  yikes.

Arrow lake being a massive change in architecture is going to have similar issues that zen did.
The IPC is higher, but the clocks are lower, end performance is going to make it Intel Ultra 2%
But the wattage will be way way lower.

I dont think people here are going to be enthuzed with it like I will be given their reactions to zen 5%

oh,  I see... but oh well even then waiting would be wiser (and hope there aren't any major issues)
