Budget (including currency): 3000 USD Max (preferably closer to 2500, but I am willing to spend extra if it's really worth it)

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I play a lot of league, minecraft, but I'm looking to play Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza Horizon 5 (among other newer games) when I get the new build working. I also edit videos as a hobby.

Other details: I currently run a 1080ti, Ryzen 5 1500x, 16 gb of ddr 4 ram. I also plan on reusing the storage currently in this build, the storage is included on pc part picker just to show the entire build but I am not buying any additional storage at this time. I run 3 monitors, and plan on upgrading my main monitor to 1440p 240hz for the new build (this does not factor into my $3000 budget). I am aiming to have the build complete early-mid December. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GQsysh

Any and all advice is appreciated and I mainly want to know if there's a significant performance boost to be found by upgrading or simply changing any of these parts, are there any glaring issues with the build right now, am I obviously overspending somewhere, etc. I'd also like to know if pc parts are likely to increase in price leading up to christmas, I'm not sure if I should be buying these parts now or not. I'd also like to know about cable modding if anyone knows more about that. I'd like white cables for my build 🙂

Solid list, only recommends I'd make is going with a Zotac Trinity OC 4080 Super and save close to $200 over the ROG STRIX, I'd also go for an ATX motherboard over the MATX, because getting an ATX case and an MATX board just looks kind of wonky, plus you'll get more headers and slots for additional hardware if needed. Use the extra cheddar to add some larger NVME SSDs into the build. There are also a couple changes that could be made to fit a 4090 within your budget if you felt so inclined.

Main Desktop: CPU - i9-14900k | Mobo - Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | GPU - PNY Gaming OC RTX 5080 16GB RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 64GB 6400mhz | AIO - Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360mm | PSU - Corsair RM1000X | Case - Hyte Y40 - White | Storage - Samsung 980 Pro 1TB Nvme /  Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 4TB Nvme / Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB Nvme / Samsung 870 EVO 4TB SSD / Samsung 870 QVO 2TB SSD/ Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD|

TV Streaming PC: Intel Nuc CPU - i7 13th Gen | RAM - 16GB DDR4 3200mhz | Storage - Crucial P3 Plus 1TB Nvme |

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra - Black 256GB |

heres a value upgrade that reuses your current platform as the 5700x3d is still a very strong cpu for gaming, heck if you really want to you can drop in a 4090 and itd still fit well within the budget though used 3080 is gonna be much better value

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Grc3VW

7700x + 4090 + 32gb 6000c30

as for an all new build its 180$ more but now it has a 4090 with a 360 white argb aio and an upgraded psu with a 10 year warranty

downgrading to a 4080 would save you 810$ so that might be a sensible choice

cpu wise for games wont really make a difference unless you play factorio or something where an x3d chip would have a massive boost

9700x also doesnt look to be that much better especially not with a 4080 though it might be good if you want to do ps3 emulation and do productivity stuff due to the extra multicore once you lift the power limits or the power savings for the same perf so kind of like a middleground between the 7700x and 7900x aside from stuff that can leverage avx512 like ps3 emulation where its alot better

board has also been upgraded and its now fully white whilst also having more/better i/o particularly those twin usb4 ports on the rear i/o
