Yesterday my CPU Overheated and it hasn't stopped since. The fans are only blowing cool air out and the pump doesn't get hot anymore. So I assume the pump has an issue.

Doubt its the thermal pastes or water fill at fault but the pump cable might've just died or sth. maybe the water is just too full...

Or maybe I did a dumb and I put the cables in the wrong ports, which I doubt.

Hope pics help.

This happpened a few days after refilling my cooler with Alpha Cool. And trying the spread method for thermal paste for the first time so I thought it must be air bubbles fault.

So I troubleshot by reapplying thermal paste but nothin after which I realised the BIOS was showing the Pump N/A.

Thx for reading and any assistance you might be able to offer.20240830_152047.thumb.jpg.034935a1f9950031b32cea668847361f.jpg

....  wait what?  you did WHAT now!?

You realize that you're not supposed to open and empty / refill AIOs, right?

It worked fine for a year. Maybe I used the wrong term and its not an aio? It's a be quiet silent Loop 1

touch the tubes one at a time near-ish the CPU Block:

1)  You should feel water moving inside the tubes

2) One should be a fair bit warmer than the other

If those are "No" ?  Your AIO's dead and you need a new one.

One is cool the other is hot and I can't feel water flowing.

No, that's an AIO, and they're not supposed to be refilled.  They come with coolant, and that's what they have until you get rid of it / they die.

with no water flowing, that means the pump isn't running.

It's probably done for.

There's a *chance* you vapor locked the pump?  But it's /very/ slim.  it's most likely dead.

Some AIO's have refill ports. I believe be quiet! has a decent amount of them in their product line but without knowing exactly which model OP has I cant say for sure.

You refilled it yourself? Check if that model is actually meant to be refilled or a closed loop forever. If you did, did you bleed it correctly?

mine has a screw you can open with a small cent coin on the pump block itself and I've watched tutorials on refilling it... and it did work fine for a few days.

Then this is a version that does allow for refilling of the fluid.

Admittedly, these types of AIO's with "refillable" options dont seem last as long as their fully closed counterparts based on the number of forum posts I find about them. I'm not sure if this is due to some inherent flaw in the reliability (the port being a possible point of leakage), a lower amount of refillable options on the market (meaning a less mature product, going through "growing pains") or the fact that having a user serviceable product involving fluids in a PC tends to yield higher failure rates for various reasons.

In any case, the main point being whether or not you have a dead pump . Your symptoms do point to a deal or very weak pump fluid. How long have you had the AIO? If it's more than three years, the manufacturer warranty has expired and it's probably time to get a new one.

It's supposed to be refilled and none of the tutorials bled the system (if you mean leak out a lil water afterwards).

yeah, I got it off my brother for free and its been in use for a good 3 or 4 years. Still pains me though. Thanks for the answers.

By bleeding I'm saying make sure there's no air in the system. Never bled an AIO but a lot of car systems you always bleed whenever dealing with fluids.

yea I did

My 2 cents

Either the pump is dead, or there's a big air bubble in it that makes it totally ineffective

I suppose a BQ AIO has a pwm pump so just check pump RPM to see what's the case

well bios says n/a when it comes to rpm like my screenshot shows. (unless I'm using the wrong port).

however it did sound like there was an air bubble somehow after all. So I filled it with more water. However the issue remains.

Seems you only have 1 fan working and at 1480RPM it should a fan not the pump

So imo the pump is dead and you have to replace your cooler
