Hey Ltt forums, I’ve been having issues with daily Ethernet drop outs that disconnects me from discord and games.

i have a program called uptime monitor and it says I lose connection for 5s then comes back up but it’s enough to disrupt what I’m doing especially in games like destiny where any dropout will cause instant disconnect.

My build is:

7800xd 3d

32gb g skill ram

7900xtx

msi motherboard

Things I have tried:

fresh windows install

New Ethernet cable

Pcie Ethernet Card

New router

The only solution I have currently is to enable WiFi connected at the same time as Ethernet so when it drops out it stays connected which is not ideal.
When the dropout happens it says no internet but LAN is ok so I’m super confused especially since my wife’s pc never has issues.

This is a recent pc upgrade 6 months ago that just started happening a maybe 2 months ago.

The only thing I haven’t tried is a new motherboard which I’m trying today, does anyone have any thoughts on what it could be?

Is the new ethernet cable a direct connection from your PC to the router? If it's going to the wall jack first, the problem could be at any cabling termination point along the segment. You'll need to have that reterminated along the segment.

Also, run a continuous ping (ping {your routers IP} /t) in a command prompt window and see if you get any packet loss or complete dropout.

Yeah new ethernet cable is direct to router (i have tired different slots in the router in both new and old router)
when i ping it says this over and over.
