Upgrading my PC

Country: Ireland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Fortnite, Valorant & Video Editing with CapCut

Other details: I'm using the stock intel cpu cooler that came with the cpu, and some random ionz computer case. I think I have a 750w power supply, and everything else is in here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3NmHXk - I'm just looking to see what I should upgrade next as I'm starting to get huge lag spikes when playing more demanding games like Fortnite on anything higher than the lowest settings. If anyone has any recommendations, I'm open to anything :)

the stutters in fortnite is because of cpu, fortnite is pretty demanding on cpu

The graphics card. But a much stronger one would be bottlenecked by the CPU and replacing the CPU, in theory, can be done on the same motherboard, but a significantly stronger CPU (i5 13th/14th gen, or i7) would be limited by the weak board VRM and a tiny bit by the ddr4 memory...

 

I'd add a Radeon 6700XT and call it a day.

What's your budget?

 

Your 12100F CPU is a decent budget quad-core CPU,

 

And your 3050 is decent budget GPU,

 

The CPU isn't anything powerful on average, so it will struggle with more demanding CPU tasks and the more things run in the background or are open.

 

The GPU won't really struggle much, it's just going to do fine unless you crank your graphics settings too high, that's the only downside, which isn't a big deal, I know this because I used to have even weaker GPU than you have.

IDK, I know that there are people still playing fartnite on older 4 core 4 thread i5 CPU's. So that 4c8t i3 should work fine. But if you really want to upgrade, track down a deal on a 12th gen i7.

Get a 12400f, it's a more solid CPU.  Recommend still today.
