Planning to upgrade

Budget : around 300€ (euro's)

Country:Germany

Games that it will be used for:Pacific drive, into the radius 1/2, Escape from tarkov, Euro/american truck simulator (VR), minecraft(modded).

Other details: im considering to upgrade my Mobo, CPU and RAM in the hopes to get better performance in VR games and other titles, most notably Pacific drive, i woul dbe upgrading from a Ryzen 5 5600, Asrock b550M pg Riptide, and 32GB of G.Skill aegis RAM

My current setup is good for normal desktop games but in VR titles it starts to lag and stutter, so im hoping this minor upgrade will help until i can get a new GPU

also if possible id like to avoid intel mostly because i dont like my cpu to be boxed (i think is the right term) and frankly i think that AMD is way more simpler

Whats the rest of the specs?

A 5600 should be doing WAY fine in all of these games.

i have a radeon rx 7600, and two monitors my priamry one running at 144hz, and the secondary at 60hz(might be lower), weirdly enough my GPU handles Pacific drive worse than my old RX570

Edit: my GPU is a Asus oc editionn

For VR and gaming don't you rather need a faster GPU than CPU ??

maybe but i thought that maybe with a different Cpu the Gpu might be a little faster by reducing the bottleneck

With a 5600 processor and a 7600 GPU I highly doubt you can have CPU bottlenecks unless res is very low and FPS quite high already

But you can check it, run GPU-Z monitoring while playing, if there's no CPU bottleneck (nor FPS limit or such) GPU should always be at or near 100% usage

Furmark is specifically designed as a GPU stress test, so yeah, GPU load 100% all time, you're not CPU bottlenecked but it isn't gaming

Plus the GPU hotspot is crazy hot, my 7900XTX at 400W don't reach 100C , you should repaste it if you don't upgrade it 😛

Ok then wait if you care for warranty.. Tho most manufacturers are quite scammy and refuse RMA for invented funky reasons anyway...

this happens when i try launching Pacific drive with DX12, in the last few seconds the game crashes and my GPU driver complains about a timout

That's a graphics driver crash it seems, can you play in DX11  ?

You can also uninstall (with DDU) your adrenalin drivers, then reinstall latest version

It shouldn't

Your problem is some troubleshooting or non correctly working part, not that you really need an upgrade

I'd say the GPU may be defective , way too hot, crashes, so RMA it while you still can 😛
