So me and my freind are trying to fix his computer. He has got 128gb vengence ram (dosn't know what speed), AMD fx-9590 black edition 8 core cpu, m5a97 ASUS motherboard, corsiar rm850, asus nvida 770 and a samsung 120gb ssd. He was playing the arma 2 dayz mod and it crashed and shut off. Now, when he tries to switch it on, it shows up the asus logo on the monitor for about 3 seconds and shuts off. All of the fans are running. Anyone got any ideas?

Reseat ALL THE THINGS. Just take everything out (memory, gpu, etc) then pop it back in. Obviously disconnect the power and all that.

If that fails, try swapping out the main components; again, gpu and RAM.

Clear the CMOS at the same time in case it's a clock speed/voltage issue.

These are the easier things to try first. I hope this helps.

Also, pull the 8 pin cpu and the 24 pin main plugs off for a few minutes, and unplug power supply to allow both the board and the psu to discharge. Sometimes that helps.

Test the power supply if you can. Clear the cmos like said above. Go from there.

A lot of times when the psu shorts something the fans will run even though the motherboard is off.

Firstly, it is my friend and i not me and my friend. If you want to pass English you need to practice practice practice.

Secondly, what exact motherboard in the m5a97 line allows 128GB of ram because i can't find any.

You could have any number of problems here, so you need to do some process elimination in order to figure out what is wrong.

Start by clearing your CMOS the correct way for that specific motherboard and don't forget to reset the time when you do. Then you can check if the BIOS is up-to-date.

Now i have been hearing that ARMA2 is creating crashes on PCs and that a person need to add some Vcore voltage in order for the system to run properly..
