M65, Rat 7,

My G500 finally died today, so I urgently need a replacement. Which is the ideal mouse for me if I have these criteria?

 

- Similar feel to G500 (prefer claw grip rather than palming)

- Comparable G500 accuracy

- Better reliability than the G500. I'd like many, many years of trouble-free usage

- FPS shooting

- Good build quality (prefer aluminum inner shell)

- Wired

- Laser

m65 and rat 7 are both very good for fps games, m65 has a better sensor ( I think) but the rat 7 has more customisation so it's up to you what you need more

I'd pick the M65, the Rats are terrible in my opinion.

both great mice but the build quality of the m65 is better.

I had 4 rat 5's in 1,5 years they broke every few months.

I have that mouse and I think it's the best thing to ever grace my desk honestly. Build quality wise, great. Sensor, perfect. Grip style, ideally suited to either full palm or hybrid/claw style. Not that good for fingertip style IMHO.

The G502 Proteus Core is way better than the M65 or RAT7, performance wise. G502 has a flawless sensor while the other two have a flawed ones.

Yes only thing I don't like is my cx750m psu because it has crazy coil whine noise and a loud fan but don't want to bother taking it out and rma it and destory my nice cablemanagement.

The M65 is $60 CDN, Proteus $80. I assume that the Logitech will be easier for me to get used to since it's closer to the G500.

I have the same psu haha but you only need to remove the 24pin cable if you want to take it out haha

The acceleration issue, mainly. A hardware flaw that causes the sensor to have a small amount of acceleration, even when disabled through software. Most notably present in Avago laser senors, which is why many people recommend flawless optical sensors like A3090 and PMW3310H. Some people have also stated the A9800 has jitter issues that was not present in the older A9500, but it is not as well documented/researched as the acceleration issue.

It's not a huge amount so most people don't even realize its there. It's mostly a problem in games, especially ones that require extreme precision such as FPS games.
