Long story short, spent most of the morning trying to follow some videos and the like to overclock some 2400 mhz DDR4 that I had and realized that Thaiphoon just did not do/give me the info I needed anymore to create the info I needed for dramcalc. Anyone able to give me instruction on how else I can get the data for the calc or some rough timings and the like I can just chuck in?

Take the higher clocked version of your memory, e.g. 3000 and copy them from the datasheet, or just use the board defaults, they'll be slow.., but who cares, since you have to test the new frequency is stable first anyway.

Haven't been able to locate a datasheet for the ram is the issue. h5an8g8n?[f/j]ruhc is what shows up for the part number

I'd try JEDEC defaults, like in this stick:

You could try some Hynix memory timings from this list after you can confirm it works:

What's the exact memory kit you have? Sometimes there's a way to get that info from the label on the kit itself. 

 

That said, you could just do the old fashioned method of figuring it out yourself. Set the memory voltage to 1.35V, the timings to something very loose (I generally use 30-30-30-60, but you can use whatever you want), then raise the frequency until it stops POSTing, then start lowering it until you can start passing memory stress tests. Once that's done, go one at a time and lower the memory timings from the initial values you set until it stops POSTing, then raise up until you can pass memory stress tests.

there's usually a sticker on the ram with the intended/ default timings.

 

otherwise use cpuz that should tell all the basic timings. 

 

your motherboard should as well, especially if it has xmp.

3466? what does blck-oc mean exactly? 

 

just asking because i oc my 3200 ram to 3600 and all i did was set 1.36v (1.35 doesn't work on msi boards in my experience)  lowered soc (?uh, I'd have to check to what exactly) and set timings to what they would normally be for 3600 (b-die) ram.

 

ik quick and dirty but i didn't do "blck-oc" afaik, and its stable af, no crashes since 2 years of running this. (also no performance improvements btw, im just too lazy to set it back to default lmao)

I think the blck is equivalent to the old front side bus from the northbridge days. It was temporarily used to overclock Intel CPUs when they forgot to lock it on non-K CPUs, but I don't think it is really a thing on Ryzen because CPU & memory overclocking is unlocked on all CPUs anyways.

My guess is because it is an old (7 years) thread and it was back with Skylake/6th gen that BCLK overclocking was a thing for a short time until Intel locked it all down again.

JFYI you can probably get it to 2933 but that'll probably be it, not bad, but higher its likely to become unstable in my experience. 

 

also i tried the taiphoon thing... its garbage,  nothing they said actually worked, did it on my own then in 20 minutes as described above and that... worked lol.
