Hi Everyone,

Recently when I open settings it will by its self anywhere from 2-15 seconds.  I can be typing or scrolling and it will just minimize, this make changing a wallpaper an infuriating process.  I have follows all the recommendations from Microsoft.  Some people have had success by removing the Boradcom Bluetooth icon from the system tray.  Nothing has worked for me.  It seems like windows is loosing focus on the settings window.  I would greatly appreciate anyone's insight.

Jeff

Sounds like something on the PC is taking Focus from settings, you can use a program such as Windows Focus Logger to see what is causing settings to minimize and lose focus.

stealing focus is one thing but I can't see anything like that causing the Settings window to full on minimize though like the OP is stating.

@cdnfenix does anything else have this kind of behavior or is it literally just the Windows Settings app? bizarre behavior if just that app.

I've seen a few apps or viruses that steal focus and act as if a 3D or Fullscreen application is in focus causing all other Windows to minimize. It does happen, I've fixed it on several occasions in my shop. It could also be a simple bug with the Windows settings processes and a simple in-place upgrade can fix it. I suggested checking a Focus Logger to rule that out as a first step as it's a more quick and simple thing to look for than doing an in-place upgrade first.

Hi,

I downloaded Focus Logger and let it run while I was poking around in Settings.  Nothing is showing on Focus Logger when the settings minimizes.  Yes Brando this only happens with Windows Settings.  Sometimes if the window is not focused on it will stay up.  I have the titlebar wiggle turned off, but sometimes dragging the window it will minimize.  Paying close attention on the Settings home page it will be fine, when I start interacting with the frames on the right side of the page is when it acts up.
