Chair recomendations?

Budget (including currency):  Idealy around $500 but if you can really convince me maybe up to $1k if its really worth

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: around 8hrs per day work work/occasional gaming 

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):  Preferably with armrest, would really prefer genuine leather unless you can convince me other wise but I really dislike fabric

 

My current chair is a DX Racer from about 10 years ago and I cant stand its fabric and its faux leather is just completely pealed. Ive seen secret labs but they don't have any genuine leather. I am just looking for a comfortable chair that will last a long time. Any recs?

You can find them for a lot less than that, especially if there's a used office supply outlet in your general area.

 

They're extremely adjustable, comfortable task chairs that are designed to be sat in for hours, and the mesh seat makes them swamp-ass-proof. (They've also been around forever, so you can get parts if you need to.) It was a huge downgrade when my office switched our fleet of these out for some Steelcase things with pleather seat cushions.

IKEA. I got a chair for $100 2 years ago. Lacks lumbar support, but so does my car so we make due.

Seconding used office supply outlets. You can often find barely used great chairs for pennies on the dollar. That same Herman Miller Aeron chair Needfuldoer recommended is at my local shop for a tenth of the price new.

They are THE office chair to buy. It's why every office buys them. If you don't want your 80hr-a-week office workers taking sick days due to back problems, you buy these.

There's also the Steelcase Leap and Herman Miller Embody (they have a Logitech collab too)

I got Neuechair it's a meah chair. There are others like mentioned. Breathable and adjustable is a must for me.

I picked up a used Steelcase Gesture on FB Marketplace for $200. Manufacture date of 2018. Used my car detailing products on the plastics, metals, and vinyls. Used a carpet shampooer on the fabric and it looks almost as good as new and is a SUPER comfortable chair for 10+ hours a day. Always supplement with stretching and standing though.

 

I would 100% look at the used market local to you if you can.
