Hello everyone

For the last few weeks, I've been having problems with the machine freezing on me. Sometimes it happens in a game or even while just browsing. The screen will keep displaying what I was doing, but neither mouse nor keyboard respond. The only thing I can do is reboot.

Funny thing was, at one point, I entered the BIOS and was keeping an eye on temperatures, when it started making sounds like a loud harddrive... only there is no spindle in this machine anymore. At that point, USB attached devices that had LEDs started flickering. When I rebooted the machine, it would go in a loop where it would turn itself off and on every few seconds.

I used the CMOS reset button on the back, and it booted up again. Still I keep having freezes from time to time.

At first I suspected overheating due to the watercooling I installed a few months ago. I thought perhaps the pump was bad or something, but both graphics card and CPU stay well below 50° during light gaming.

Any idea what could be the culprit?

I have a GA-X58A-UD3R mainboard

Core i7 950

The powersupply is a quite young Seasonic 660xp Platinum

Graphicscard is a Asus GTX 780 OC
