from what i understand is that lite coins are easier for light weight machines and bit coins are damn near impossible to mine now lol

LiteCoins. Unless you have some awesome baller machine. Bitcoins are pretty hard to come by nowadays.

If you want to mine litecoins you can download GUIminer here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=150331.0 it should work pretty easily on windows 8. CGminer would be better to use but lots of people have problems running it on windows 8.

You should be able to get around 500Kh/s out of your cards.

 

If you want to  mine Bitcoins for some reason someone else will have to help you.
