Is the stock cooler from the cpu enough?

VincentVictini
Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

that really depends on the CPU. If it's an i5, it's probably enough

So i got a gaming pc however the cooler that my pc is using is an Intel® Laminar RM1 and acorring to my research it's was the one that was the stock one so wonder is it enough?

It may not be the quietest or keep the processor as cool as possible, but it's certainly adequate cooling for stock speeds.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Which model?

For the 12400/12400F it is fine, plenty good enough for gaming. For 24/7 Blender, maybe not...

The Laminar RM1 is roughly equivalent to a very cheap tower air cooler, or a $10-$15 top-down cooler.

A $20-$30 tower cooler would beat it easily.

Nah, they package it in there to fill up empty space in the packaging. It’s decorative, use it as a coaster or throw it away. /s

Yes the stock cooler is fine, it’ll work within the CPUs reference specs. You only really get an aftermarket cooler if you want something quieter, frivolously cooler, or your cpu is high wattage enough that it wouldn’t come with a cooler.
