consider making distinctions among

  • unboxing (blech)
  • overview
  • review
  • tear down

Sharing one's experience is often an overview.  Comparing one product to another, or the product to its hyped capabilities is often a review.

"It's nice" and "it works for me" are antithetical to a review.

FUn fact: amaz0n Community Team, a zero accountability source of abuse that drives away quality reviewers, can quietly flag your account subjecting you to needless oversight by someone with a tenuous grasp of English.  To avoid this pepper your review with the word "experience".  Amaz0n profit is actively damaged by Community Team.  Is journalism dead?

There are very few topics posted in Member Reviews, so adding more categorisation seems unnecessary - can you elaborate on why you think it would be valuable?

Are there many unboxings? I haven't looked a lot there, but I don't think so. Overview covers unboxing and going over features, use cases and maybe some testing. A review would happen after longer period of use and have further analysis on features, durability etc. to evaluate whether product was worth the money or not.

What does this mean? The latter is something very commonly used in LTT and SC videos, with "your mileage may vary" suffix.

This seems like pointless anecdote to make. Whats your point here? Is there problem on how your peers review the stuff they have bought? These aren't or aren't meant to be professional reviews. But rather members giving their own opinion on stuff to other members.

If I had to guess this is more of a suggestion for LTT/shortcircuit videos than actual forum post requirement suggestion.

I'm pretty sure it's forum suggestion.
