Add Github as an OAUTH2 Provider

I don't use social media, I do use Github.

I imagine quite a lot of tech-savvy people are the same.

Please add it as an OAUTH provider <3

Your post insinuates that the only OAUTH options on the site are social media platforms. Microsoft, Google, and Steam are all available as authentication methods, none of which I would describe as social media. I guess if GitHub has the ability to OAUTH and implementation is trivial then I don't see why not, but I'm struggling to understand an individual who has a GitHub account but not a Google or Microsoft one.

ask me about my homelab

on a personal quest convincing the general public to return to the glory that is 12" laptops.

cheap and easy cable management is my fetish.

Microsoft and Google aren't but a lot of us don't want either of those accounts because of the privacy issues. Now I acknowledge, given MS have acquired Github, I have no way of knowing if there's actually that much benefit in not having one.

It's not a huge drama, I just think that given the audience of this forum, there are probably quite a lot of people with Github accounts, so it would seem an easy win from my perspective.

I'm not fundamentally opposed, but I don't think that many people would use it (not that many people would be happy to use GitHub but not Microsoft or Google), and it would be another thing to maintain and make sure the forum software devs don't break (and if they did break it, it would be very annoying for anyone that uses it to log in).
