Single Case Fan Starting and Stopping Repeatedly With Grinding Sound

PC is about 18 months old.  Recently, a case fan along the bottom of the PC will intermittently stop and start with a grinding sound.  See attached video.  All the other fans appear to be functioning normally.  The fans are ARCTIC P12 PWM PST A-RGB (3 Pack) - 120 mm PWM case Fan.

Just wondering if this is something I can fix or if the fan needs to be replaced?

Thanks!

Can you check to see if fan blades are touching the surface you mounted them to? Sounds like its stalling due blades touching something.

I opened the case and checked around with a flashlight.  The blades don't seem to be obstructed.  The fan will usually run fine for hours without stalling or making any noise.

I may try removing the fan for a closer inspection after work.

If it's not being obstructed in anyway (which it doesn't seem like it) most likely just bad bearings. You could try and swap it for a front fan to see if it likes being mounted on a different axis. Otherwise you may wanna contact Lian Li (if it's their case fan) for a replacement.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I removed the bad fan, and couldn't find anything that would be obstructing it.  I was intending to swap it with one of the vertical fans but tbh the process of taking apart the daisy chain of cables and putting it back together was too much of a headache.  I just ordered a new fan from Arctic to replace the bad one.  Hopefully that fixes things!
