Just make sure your motherboard and cooling can handle it. Even if it couldn't, an upgrade to them 3 will still likely cost the same if not less than a new platform. Unless you are also adding in a more power hungry GPU What do you mean stock cooler, a AMD wrath max/prism is more then enough. an AMD spire might struggle.
