I'm curious, what's the main motive for upgrading for most of you?
Link what you had and what you purchased. 

I personally went fro ma rig I made in Aug of '09.

Q9550, Asus P5QL-Pro, 4Gb DDR2 1066 Gskill, EVGA GTX 260 216, Western Digital 1Tb Green, NZXT Beta Case, OCZ 500W ModXstream.

i5 3570k, Asrock Z77 Pro4-M, 8Gb DDR3 1600 Patriot Viper, XFX 7770, same Western Digital Hard Drive, some cool think case by Topower.

 

I upgraded cause WoW was lagging. Peopel said it was my CPU. I was naive.

I only really upgrade when i need more memory or i want something from a vendor like CUDA or PhysX.

I upgrade cos i can most of the time tbh. Im only satisfied with performance until something better comes out.

I upgraded to my GTX 680 4GB from 2 X GTX 260 SLI.

Wanted more performance and newer hardware.

Unfortunately I like to spend my money on things other than my PC. So I'm reduced to upgrading when performance becomes annoyingly frustrating. Still rocking a Bloomfield CPU that over clocks like a champ, and I only upgraded to a ssd and better GPU. Haswell has me tempted though.

i upgraded because Mechwarrior would not run on my previous rig :P
