Future of PC Sizes

Hi, I'm fairly new in this forum, but already been following LTT for quite some time... 

 

I wanna contribute a topic about 'your prediction on the sizes of our future cases, hardware, peripherals, etc'

 

Is it going to be smaller in sizes, or bigger, because most of the cases now always leave up a room for a bigger GPUs or motherboards and everything else around us is getting compact in sizes

Welcome to the forums since that is your first post :D 

I think for a few years to come they will remain the same size as now but im guessing that eventually they ll become smaller and smaller, however there would still be that enthusiast level with big cases and all that. And yeah makes me sad but i also think that something like nvidia grid will overtake everything in the far future, (hopefully im not alive to see that happen lol) and the mainstream thing would be to not have a computer at home and stream everything

But wont it be better if there will be a smaller enthusiast builds?

I can't see a big change in size but if more cases like the prodigy are made where you can do so much in a small space, I wouldn't particularly mind.

I could see mATX becoming the standard, along with more water-cooling accommodation, so...Shorter and ever so slightly wider, I guess.

I think that there is probably gonna be a much bigger difference between the average user PC size and the enthusiast size. general purpose desktops are already using incredibly small form factors.

There is always gonna be an enthusiast market that will want lots of expansion though.
