6000CL32 is also an option 5200CL40 is VERY slow RAM, like average DDR4 is faster kinda slow

some upgrades

mobo has been upgraded since the b650m pg lightning has a trash vrm, just about handles a 7950x stock but it is nowhere near the b650m hdv thatll handle one of those overclocked

rams have been upgraded, after you set xmp manually set ram frequency to 6000 for 1:1 uclk with no additional tuning or stresstest required

psu has been upgraded to an 850w with a 10 year warranty and no fan noise complaints

ssd has been upgraded to an actual high end dram gen4 for an extra $ so you go from dramless qlc trash thats barely any faster than a gen3 whilst being priced like a high end dram gen4 to actually getting a high end dram gen4

Id also just get rid of the cooler as 7600 non X comes with stock cooler. If case airflow is fine then it should have no issue cooling. 50 bucks saved

I'd like the system to be very quiet, so a stock cooler wouldn't do it for me.

I'm using a r5 7600 and even if I do upgrade in a future, I'm not planning on getting an 165W CPU and overclocking it. But I agree with everything else you've said. Also is it bad that I want the PG Lightning because I want my build to be all black? Also the PG Lighning has PCIE 5.0 SSD compatibility if I want to upgrade in the future.

Are you sure that Gigabyte PSU is safe these days? Also single channel 16GB probably won't cut it for RAM-heavy games like Rust, and is also leaving a lot of performance on the table since it's not dual channel. And I also noticed that you downgraded the SSD to PCIe 3. Will that be a noticeable difference and is it worth the performance loss?

On second thought the Verbatim has a 2 year warranty compared to Crucial's 5 year warranty. I would much rather the security of the 5 yr warranty to be honest.

5 year warranty P3 back in

Much better cooler for pretty much the same price, will run quieter than the arctic again

Much better RAM, should be A-die and choose the 6000CL30 XMP profile, will net the best performance

I chose @Somerandomtechybois PSU recommendation, very good PSU, can save money with the 750W and 650W versions if you dont want the extra wattage headroom but will be good for future upgrade to have the extra wattage

If you want a non rgb cooler choose the one below instead

To be honest I hate the look of that cooler. I'm going for either all black or just a couple RGB accents here and there. Any all-black cooler that does the job just as well? Otherwise great suggestions.

Is that the 120 EVO you're talking about? That has very limited availability in Australia, I can only find it on aliexpress or very small retailers for jacked up prices.

Seems great but is only available at one major retailer which is $70AUD+ including shipping, whereas the AK400 zero dark I can pick up from a store near me.

Edit: Nvm I found one that has it at the same price with free shipping. Is this one quieter than the AK400?

Depends on the price, the freezer 36 should be tad better

It's a pretty decent cooler, and thermalright has some pretty meh pricing in Austrailia compared to other parts of the world

This is what I realistically would have bought ($1826):

This is what I'm tempted to go with based off suggestions ($1867):

Is $40 worth the difference?

(The motherboard is $210 including shipping)

$40 for a better cooler, much better RAM and better PSU with 100W extra headroom, not a bad deal imo

kinda ironic when you got an overpriced 7 year warranty psu instead of a 10 year one but i have some alternative ssd options

kc3000 with a 5 year warranty should also be abit faster than the verbatim albiet 30$ extra

nm620 5 year warranty 20$ cheaper and should still outperform the p3 in random r/w (which is what youll probs be doing most like windows doing stuff in the background) cause its a dram ssd, should also last longer since its a dram tlc drive and not a dramless qlc drive though we are talking in a timescale of >10 years

gen 4 ssds are already useless for the average user as games isimply wont take advantage of that speed and the only reasons youd see me reccomending those when not neccesary is either value (dram gen 4 is not much more than a dram gen3) or budget allows for it, so dont expect to ever need gen5 when most ppl dont even need gen4 atm

b650m pg riptide a step above the lightning with a not garbage vrm, still abit worse than the gaming plus i/o wise (less usb3 ports on the rear) but that shouldnt matter too much as you still have 7 of em (3 rear 4 internal)

aesthetics preferences are fine as long as you have the budget and you arent gimping your specs for the sake of aesthetics

Do you have any DRAM gen 4 recommendations or should I just go for the NM620 given my budget? I most likely won't tell the difference anyway so I would prefer longevity. Thanks for the advice.

id reccomend that nm620 as you wont notice the diff anyways

only dram gen4 thats worth it value wise is that verbatim ssd since all the others are either dramless or alot more expensive
