What are the best 140mm fans? For intake.

Akumatie

I'm looking to get 2 140mm fans for intake on my Fractal North case
Currently I am just using the stock fans as intake and for exhaust I've got 3 noctua nf-a12x25
I like to run my fans at a constant speed at around 1200rpm, don't want humming or weird noises

Don't care about pricing I just want the best noise to performance.

You have issue with the stock fans in the North?  Mine are great, but I'm older and my hearing isn't what it once was I guess.

In my experience its the Noctua 120mm that are annoying.

Are you sure its not the exhaust fans making an annoying noise?

Had a look and they look really good, a couple of reviews say they are the best, I'll get them when they come back in stock on OverclcokersUK

The stock fans on the north a good but I can't really put them up over 800rpm without them making a good amount of noise while my noctua fans are near silent at 1200rpm, and I would think getting new fans like the Be quiet Pro 4 would push more air and be more quiet than the stock fans.

My noctua fans sound really good for me at least, I know people like and dislike different noise frequencies
I do run mine at 1200rpm, I do know if I bump them to 1500 they are quite deep but I'd rather have deep fans than fans that are high pitched

Its likely I never managed to hit the right RPM, as mine being on Linux machines is problematic as you can only control the fans in the BIOS.  I was just quite disappointed how quickly those Noctuas get noisy, especially compared to the 140mm ones.

The annoying thing with fans is trying to figure out which fans have the most airflow at tolerable noise levels, given at best you usually only have the min/max airflow on the data sheet.

Gotta admit I am impressed with the Be Quiet fans over the last few years.

There is no point in getting the bq SWP4 unless you have special needs. If it's just for case intake, get the Silent Wings 4, high- speed Edition of that's not too loud.

What dBA seems to be the limit for you?

Yeah I would think getting the high speed version would be fine as I am going to be using 4 pin fan control, and I wouldn't even use the switch on the back of the pro version,
I have no idea of my dBA limit I don't have one of them fancy machines

Download a sound meter program, calibrate it in a very quiet place,  and then do some experimenting.

Just throw the premium fans to front and ditch the other ones. You dont need more than that if you run at moderately high speed  like 1200rpm. When you go 700-800rpm intake, you start to need an exhaust or two.

Moderately high=1200 rpm? You're joking, or you're sensitive to sound, right?

A lot of these guys are "sensitive" to sound.

Moving air also makes noise, there is no escape.

If you already got 3 NF-A12x25, then why not just get 3 more as intake? Or take one of the exhaust fans and put in front with 2 additional for positive airflow.

I'm confused by your math, doctor. 3 intake - dust filter/ radiator resistance != 3 exhaust fans - exhaust grill resistance. If all fans are the same, that generally means negative pressure AFAIK. Please explain.

I forgot to say that I have 2 of them fans on an AIO, the top of the case and no way I've going back to arctic fans rather go passive than hear them humming and ticking
