5800x3D and PBO Tuner 2

Hey all,

Recently picked up a 5800x3d off FB marketplace, and paired it with a peerless assassin 120 heatsink.

My question is if I'm only hitting Max temp of say 76c, is it even necessary or worthwhile on a performance impact to try undervolting?

From what I understand it reduces the temperature and allows the CPU to run longer/faster without throttling but I don't think I'm throttling yet. Please advise thank you

Nah, you basically said it already that if the CPU is not near throttling, lower temps won't help. Max of 76C is also a pretty nice and low operating temp in general.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Performance wise no, but it will reduce power consumption, you may not need the cooler fan to spin as fast and it gives you more leeway if you need to run it in a hot room in the summer.  Not everyone has air conditioning so the latter can be a factor.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

that's true but the difference may be imperceptible.

@Jaw709 do you live in the northern or southern hemisphere? If these are the temps you're getting during warm season, you are probably sitting very pretty.

Can confirm living in the northwest (hemispherically) I'm not a geography major but I think that includes North America. Thank you all for the answers!

You should be ok, but using the curve will let it push harder for longer, while running a bit cooler.

I started testing with cinebench r23 and it is pushing it beyond 80. PBO offsets are increasing score. But I guess in like a real world setting, if I'm gaming with 4K the CPU has not reached 100% utilization or these temps. Still fun though thanks
