ROG Strix Laptop In-Game Stuttering

I've had my ROG Strix G18 laptop for almost a year now and I have been experiencing stuttering in almost every game I play. I recently installed 64GB of ram compared to the 16GB it came with and a 2TB SSD in addition to the original it came with giving it 3TB of storage along with the Nvidia 4080 Laptop GPU and the Intel Core i9-13980HX processor. So why am i stuttering in games? my greatest suspicion is my background processes. At any given moment there re at least 150 background processes running and usually over 100 Windows processes. I have done ample research about ways of reducing this but they all seem sketchy one way or another. Id like to hear advice on solutions to background processes or other causes that could be resulting in performance decreases.
