new gaming pc around 1300 €

Budget (including currency): not above 1400

Country: Croatia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming (cyberpunk, fh5, tlou, 1440p >60fps, not streaming); some raw photo editing from time to time

Upgrading from i5-3470, rx560 and 16gb of ddr3. My current parts list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/f4RJQP. I'm not sure about the gpu, 6800 non-xt performs on part with 7700xt which is newer and also has av1 encoding support, but since I don't stream nor video edit I figured it would be better to have more vram to future proof myself, am I right? as for nvidia, I don't really need any of the fancy features, so I went with amd since I think it's better value currently. I also don't have any monitor apart from an old vga one which I plan to use as a secondary display, so any recommendations are appreciated.

faster AM5 fits in the budget for the CPU, though for 1440p, you could bump up the GPU:

Can you please use only the one store, I don't plan to buy every part in a different store. Other than that I don't know what to think about trading cpu for better gpu. I don't have enough experience to tell is that better for future-proofing, but it's true that am5 ryzen 7600 should give me more headroom than lag1700 for upgrading in the future and should not be a bottleneck right now. The rx7800xt is also appreciate, but can you explain that memory?

I got a recommendation for going with a less powerful cpu in favor of the gpu. This should be better for games and the cpu is still fast enough for other tasks, so I think I'll go this route, I can always upgrade the cpu in the future if needed. The only thing I'm not so sure about is should I choose intel or amd. Ryzen 7600 performs similar to i5-12600kf which is also a little cheaper. I know amd tends to support there sockets for longer, but maybe I should go with something that has a clear upgrade path at the time of buying if you know what I mean. Going intel gives me that clear upgrade path to 13th gen when needed, but amd will support am5 socket for longer. What do you think? Which one I'll be happier with and is that cpu-gpu ratio even good?

for 1440p its not a bad idea, 7600 would be more expensive, but am5 will likely be supported for at LEAST 3 more generations, as am4 was for 5,  and it will pair very well with a 7800xt for 1440p, so if you have the money to spend, its likely a good investment

7600 is quite fast enough, and it's futureproof lies in the motherboard it's on, a good B650 motherboard can handle 7800x3D and more, even AM5 CPUs that haven't been released yet most likely,

memory? it's CL28 5600Mhz, if you don't like it you can tune it or get CL30 6000Mhz RAM instead,

yes, the B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI from MSI for example has some CPU headroom, see that it has 2 8pin power connectors for CPU, and fun fact, current AM5 CPUs could simply run off of 1 8pin power connection

if you want to keep it simple just go AMD, the 7600 isn't slow,

You're right. There really won't much difference between 5600MHz CL28 and 6000MHz CL30. Especially after some tweaking.

That's true and with a beefy cooler like the one you suggested I'll probably be able to pull even more performance out of it. The video you provided is realistic and I have to be too. There's no need for 13600k it's pretty much a death platform.

As you can see, it's almost the same as what you provided, I swaped the gpu ifor the one with a better cooler and changed the case. Everything else should be the same. Not sure if I'll ever need a 850w power supply, but it was only a little more than 10expensive than a 750w model from gigabyte, so I might as well just stick with it.

Thank you for taking the time to teach me how to optimize my build for the budget and what I need to look for when future-proofing. Before I mark this as complete, can anyone look at this monitor just to confirm it's a good choice. I don't want to use an old, partially repaired 2009 iMac as my display. it's good that you understand that, while the 13600k isn't slow, it most certainly can be caught in some of the performance, or get relatively close with 7600, which already sounds like something that's at the end of the line,

that's fine, just know that the 2fan card can be as decent as a 3 fan can, this is one of the reviews from the 2fan card:

image.png.ab48de4872b11d923ff1db34c11ba2b4.png

the case is nice, it should come with 2 front-mounted fans, it's also quite spacious,

it's nice to have some headroom and not force your PSU to run at maximum potential, A-BN should be B-tier since it's got all the PCIE5 shenanigans maybe, also headroom means the PSU fan won't ramp as high as it would if it was fully utilized

I'm not expert for monitors, but it doesn't sound bad,

@filpo @brob anyone got info on this, spec wise/experience wise?

can anyone look at this monitor just to confirm it's a good choice. I don't want to use an old, partially repaired 2009 iMac as my display. Acer Nitro XV1 XV271U M3bmiiprx 27.0" 2560 x 1440 180 Hz Monitor

Speakers seem to be sub par, but at least it has them

I heard some complaints about dead pixels after a few months. But that was like 40 out of 1200 and that can happen with everyone. Though it is something to note

I recognized you're looking at us pcpartpicker but you're in europe. Use german pcpp and here's some alternatives

Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ1A 27.0" 2560 x 1440 170 Hz Monitor (VG27AQ1A) - PCPartPicker

for a smaller screen - AOC Q24G2A/BK 23.8" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Monitor (Q24G2A/BK) - PCPartPicker

Gigabyte G27Q 27.0" 2560 x 1440 144 Hz Monitor (G27Q) - PCPartPicker

Is there really any point of monitor speakers? I'm actually interested.

the 4 pcpartpicker reviews mention the dead pixels and speakers, but I wouldn't worry about monitor speakers, I could go out on a street and spend days looking for someone who uses those

honestly they wouldn't be for most people but I think I'm the only person who'd actually use them. For some reason, a headset just gives me annoyance and earbuds without silicone ear tips hurt my ears after 20 mins (and my earbuds with ear tips are bluetooth which are quite bad with my pc at least since it's 4.2)

That's why I took it into account since I would personally use it (which is why I really want to replace my old samsung monitor, but also that the smearing on it is atrocious)

as stated above by me, it was mostly in my opinion, and people do use them, but I do understand that they're not that valuable to other people as they are to me

I mostly gave alternatives since I couldn't find the acer on german pcpp, doesn't mean it's not there for germany tho. I didn't look that hard

Or the superior sound to PC speaker? But noted!

I really did not think someone would really be so desperate to listen sounds through monitor speakers as a 2nd preference, rather 3rd or such.

I meant to appreciate the good stuff by comparing it to the crappy monitor speaker
