What GPU Should I upgrade to!?

So I have a 1070 now I want to upgrade for a decent 1440P GPU 4070 Super or one of the AMD Cards? Trying to keep it between 500-700 USD Range but anything less with decent performance is a plus give me decent reasons as to what card you suggest I see these 12GB cards preforming well but some games use more VRAM so I just worry and have always been a green card owner but would be willing to move to an AMD platform if the price and performance warrants it.

7900 XT > 7900 GRE >= 4070 Super >= 7800 XT >= 4070

Nvidia has RT performance, AMD has raster performance (turn of RT and suddenly AMD wins at same price bracket by more or less fps + VRAM sometimes on AMD is more generous)

The spectrum starts at RX 6800 and ends around 7900 XT for 700$, with some GPUs in that spectrum costing over 700$, for example all 30 series cards:

(I basically checked prices mentally for most GPUs, the 30 series should be too expensive and for example 6900 XT is 200$ more expensive than 7800 XT while having same performance)

Just need to decide how heavily you weigh Nvidia's RT performance. The below chart is meant to give you an overview of where things stack up generationally, not to say what FPS you're expected to get with each card. More of a comparison between cards on average.

Gotta just get familiar with what things cost, I'd stick to the two far left columns.

$700 will get you a 7900xt right now.

I should note, if it wasn't clear, that graph is done using rasterization (no RT) only and at native 1440p (no upscaling).

You're expected to extrapolate from there knowing that. For example, if you don't like where something sits on that graph but you expect that in heavy titles you'd be using DLSS/FSR anyway, its going to perform better.

TH also has an RT performance chart that might be of use.

and how much do you care about RayTracing? 4070 Super is 12GB VRAM, and while better than AMD at RT, on raster you could find similar/cheaper AMD card with 16GB VRAM
