I need to scan an instruction manual printed in an obscure size of 6.5x5.5 inches. My Brother scanner does not have a preset for scanning items of this size, nor does it have an option to input custom dimensions.

Thus, I need to scan all of its hundred or so pages at a larger paper size, then crop down each image. I would love to not do this 100 times, though.

What software would be able to do this? I am familiar with IrfanView and have used its batch resize in the past but I don't think it would be able to crop white borders out of images.

I can scan the book as a multi-page TIF or PDF, or each page as a TIFF or PNG.

Haha ok, well you can do it in gimp as well, but setting up batch jobs is.... more involved...

As much as I dislike adobe as well, their batch processing is really simple to use.
