Alright so I'm looking to spend about $800 on a gaming pc. I want to record for Youtube. I think I will be using a Elgato PC capture card to record. This is what I have so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/WhitePhoenix0/saved/4MSe

I want to know how to get more out of this price for my money. I will probably add a samsung 840 pro SSD to install windows 8 on. I'd like to make sure this build is Crossfire (OR SLI!!!) compatible if I want to upgrade down the road. What I did is I took TSF's $600 Recommended AMD build, added a monitor and OS then updated the processor to a newer version and changed the case and RAM. Can someone make sure this is all compatible and suggest improvements?

Thanks! I'll research some of this here. BTW for a case, will a Corsair 200R work? I found one on craigslist for $40 as opposed to having it shipped here for $80 total. Now is this SLI compatible? Also what is the advantage of That RAM as opposed to the new Hyperx fury? No optical drive? Also the Motherboard supports Crossfire, but the graphics card is NVIDIA. I want to be able to add a second graphics card later.

its cheaper, not gonna see much difference between the two.

the 200r would be a better choice if you can get it.

since youre willing to go a bit above 800, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3Q0TG

one thing, what games are you gonna be playing?

Currently I plan to play a custom highly-modded minecraft pack, CS:GO, Garry's mod, Terraria, Battlefield 4. Also should probably mention I have interests in software development.

Gonna be honest, Erik's build looks better for the price. Your build has 3.2 quad core, his has 3.5 6-core, not to mention how much cheaper the AMD is.

But now I'm noticing, his build's PSU might not be enough.

Well. The 200R is good but I could not fit it in the budget, but if you chose this card http://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr92803gbd5t2dheoc for the crossfire, you can afford it. Throw in a optical drive if you want, I was not expecting you to have that. The advantage of the RAM is that it is much cheaper, and there is no difference if you do not overclock the RAM.

I'm much more comfortable buying a well-known reputable brand like ASUS. Is there a similar motherboard that supports SLI?

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4570-vs-AMD-FX-6300 the i5 is a more powerful cpu all around, in multithreaded and single threaded apps. you might wanna go with intel on those games.

Okay i5 it is I guess. I guess we have to start over with the build as well.

Parts list:

i5-4570

Corsair 200R

Kingston Hyperx Fury 1x8gb Black

Can someone design something around this to get the most power for price?

dont go with the kingston, you can get 8 gigs of ram for about $65

this is what i got for the most power

this one is about $60 over budget

Corsair or Kingston is prefered for ram

ASUS, or EVGA for graphics

adata is makes good ram, up there with corsair, i think linus uses them for work

powercolor is good, too I have one of thier 270x's, its not the cream of the crop, but if you drop down to a asus 270x, it will be a big performance drop.

Going with that intel CPU will make you have ALOT lower FPS in games sicne you have to get a worse GPU then.

a 270(x) is not far from the 760

the 280 is ahead of it

Alright I've decided I'm going with this or something similar: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/WhitePhoenix0/saved/4MYJ. Feedback? If changes need to be made PLEASE do NOT just link another random pc build.

I'm not sure why you just downgraded, while keeping the price similar
