Sick of loud fans

B16

I have some corsair LL120 rgb fans and they're so loud that it's driving me insane, my case is a 4000D so theyre not starved of airflow and I have custom fan curves set up to try and limit the absolute wailing that they do. Is there any actual good options for RGB fans that are quiet? Cost won't matter much as long as it's not truly ridiculous price.

Also small rant but the lighting on ever corsair fan I've ever seen is tragic, half the colours are just tinted white, awful.

P12 ARGBs. I have an LL120 and it's horrible for airflow. The noctua NF-P12S redux next to it is much better for airflow at the same fan speed

I have a P12 too (non Argb) and it's very quiet, nearly as good as Noctua's NFA-12s but it has a bit of motor noise at certain rpms, but definitely better than the ll120s. P12 ARGB should be the same in terms of fan speed, noise and airflow

I haven't got this on my LL120 (in fact the only reason I'm still using it) is the RGB lighting which looks good for me, though recently I had a bug which didn't allow me to pick any lighting so I just left it in my case with no rgb (which is the only reason I am actually using it since i have another NH-P12S redux just sitting around)

Are you using iCUE? when I was using it all was well, though now it's basically not working, try updating iCUE maybe

There's also the UNIFAN SL-INF which are very good for noise (close to the best on techpowerup's charts) and still somewhat decent for airflow

Though I think P12 ARGBs would be a better choice unless you like the look of the SL-INF

Lian Li Uni Fan SL-Infinity 61.3 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack (UF-SLIN120-3B) - PCPartPicker

ARCTIC P12 PST A-RGB 0dB 48.8 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack (ACFAN00232A) - PCPartPicker

There is also non ARGB if you want to go with that in which case the P28's from lian li would be my pick, they are slightly thicker than 25mm (they're 28mm) but they're not too loud, have good airflow and are cheaper than their competitor, the Phanteks T30 (which is marginally better but costs around $30 more for the three pack)

Lian Li UNI FAN P28 92 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack (P28120-3B) - PCPartPicker

btw ignore the Seasonic magflow, thats the fan they were reviewing but it's not good value or even great for performance

do they wail at very low like 20% fan speeds too?

T30s are good fans, powered by Sunon.

Corsair is really just a fancier Thermaltake. Booo.

Why you are losing headers.. not sure. Don't hot plug.

I think I'm gonna go for either these or NF-S12A, noise is my biggest issue now and these corsair fans are just too much. Also I'll look at the T30s, they look quite good from the charts.

Yeah I've got iCUE and it works fine it's just specifically the colours pink, purple and orange show incredibly poorly when applied no matter how i try to change it.

Thanks for the reply, really helped me out a lot. 🙂

No, at about 1000rpm+ they just suddenly ramp up in noise an unreasoable amount, from quiet to being able to hear them from outside my room. I'm beginning to think there's an issue with them.

They are expensive though, and they aren’t much better than the p12 ARGB. The noctuas also don’t have rgb

some fans whine they they change their speed, especially upwards or when they're just agressively going 20% faster or something

Arctic P12s can be quite quiet, if you run your case fans from Motherboard header you can control their speed, and let them stay quieter
