Overriding windows defender

Andreas22h
Go to solution Solved by HeliusMagnum,

Windows defender still sometimes performs a scan on install, even with realtime protection turned off. Take a look at this link from Microsoft on how to add an exclusion.

I have turned off real-time protections and all other toggles in the Windows security app. Still, this popup comes when trying to run a setup program flagged by Windows as a virus.

Is there a way to further override this behavior?

Are you sure it's Windows Defender triggering this?

I haven't had Defender stop an install yet, and I routinely travel the 'Bay.

What is that program, and are you sure it isn't actually infected?

Turning off real time protection won't change the fact this .exe has already been flagged. You'll have to make an exception rule for this program, provided you're actually 100% sure it's safe.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Adding the program as an exclusion as shown in the marked solution fixed it so pretty sure defender was flagging it
