Want to know if I should upgrade any of my components because my computer is starting to feel sluggish.

Hello I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for upgrades as lots of games feel sluggish on this pc and it's about 4 years old

I would like to run them in high preset, some games are GTA V, csgo 2, lethal company, ARK, 7daystodie, Apex legends, Forza 5, Fortnite, rocket league, and overwatch. Games like Lethal and Ark do get played with mods on.

I have no clue what to upgrade so here are the parts i have, my budget is 1k USD.

Update the BIOS and put an 5800X3D in there 馃檪

The 6800XT is still a pretty darn good GPU.

But if you have 1k USD to spend I would go with a 7800X3D, 32GB DDR5 and a B650 motherboard.

Another thing to be aware of is that, at least historically, Windows installs would often slow down a bit over time for a variety of reasons having to do with the way the OS is designed. Sometimes you could see a noticeable improvement by just doing a fresh re-install. Particularly if you're experiencing sluggishness on the desktop.

I haven't used Windows as a main OS in a few years, so that approach may be out of date. But it could be worth trying out if it isn't too inconvenient to back up your stuff (which you should be doing anyway, I suppose).

If you feel like it鈥檚 slowing down, try doing a couple things:

!!!!REINSTAL WINDOWS!!!! (Quite helpful)

defrag the hd

enable xmp (tho it鈥檚 slightly unstable)

maybe do a disk cleanup, sometimes helps, tho not much with gaming

Should all else fail, light uv should be helpful. It鈥檒l slightly helpful for increasing speed but will also help with longevity
