Best "Bang for the Buck" Processor upgrade from 5600X

Been running my Ryzen 5 5600X since launch and looking to make an upgrade but not ready to jump to a new platform. Currently exploring used and new options for 5700X3D or 5900X. Have also been looking at other options as well (5900X3D & 5950X), but having trouble deciding on what to jump to. Primary usage is gaming, but also some general home usage. GPU is a RTX 3070, and monitors are more than likely going to be upgraded to 21:9 1440p 140hz display.

5700X3D hands down

5900X or more only help on prod tasks,  gaming difference vs non 3D is huge, and price is really low

Good to know. Any thoughts on 5800X3D vs 5700X3D? Looks like about a ~$50 price difference but not sure if the uplift is worth the extra cost. Probably will keep using the platform for another 4 years or so after this upgrade so trying to squeeze as much life out of it as possible.

I'm sure the 5800X3D would be slightly faster but I would probably go with the 5700X3D to save money

or the 5800x3D, it's got bit more oomph than the 5700x3D,

but only if you can spend the money, the 5700x3D can be very close to 5800x3D's performance in handful of games

the difference is more narrow at higher resolutions, and in some games the uplift is very small, even at 1080p: (though Starfield is quite demanding)

5800X3D is 25% more expensive and is only 10-15%% faster than the 5700X3D, worse value imo
