7800X3D Re-Paste?

I finished my build a few months ago and I think my thermal paste job on the 7800x3d was bad. I have an nhd15s and my idle is like 45-50, when I do anything it spikes to almost 60. Think I need a repaste? I have ample airflow, 3 exhaust and 3 intakes

60? No, you should consider repasting if it hits 90.

Nah bro I’m talking like opening steam there is a crazy temp spike, I’m coming from intel so idk if this is just normal

Thats not a crazy temp spike. Crazy would be going from 40-50s to 95-100c doing that. Anything under 75c is pretty normal for loading apps, having downloads going etc.

 

Intel has the exact same tendencies when opening up stuff and downloading.

 

Its absolutely normal behavior.

This is normal. This is how Ryzen has worked for many years and 60c is not a "crazy temp spike".

go run cinebench and figure out what your temps are in a 10-30 minute run.

Then you can decide if you need to be concerned or not
