Is chipset b365 compatible with i5 7500?

Hello i have i5 7500 and my friend told me that he has an lga 1151 motherboard which he doesn't use but it has a b365 chipset and I'm not sure if it will be compatible?

The the exact model is: asrock b365 pro4

nope, 300 series is 8th/9th gen.

100/200 series was 6th/7th

 

if you looked up the board on google, it'd have shown you immediately:

No, same socket, different generation.

6th and 7th gen, 6000/7000 series, work on 100 and 200 chipsets

ie H110, B250, H270, Z170, Z270, etc

 

8th and 9th gen work on 300 series chipsets, 8000 and 9000

like H310, B360, B365, Z370, Z390

 

B365 is basically a name for B360 which has 9000 series support out of the box

 

So if you have an i5 7500, you need something like B250, H270 or Z270
