Trying to Build a PC for a Friend as a Surprise Gift, Sanity Check and Any Feedback Appreciated.

Budget (including currency): 400 - 450 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Palworld, Helldivers 2 and video editing

Other details: This PC will be used play Helldivers 2 and Palworld on 1080p at 60fps. Video editing should be around the same resolution. I am doing this build as a surprise gift for my friend on his birthday. This is going to be his first getting into PC gaming. I am hoping this build will be stable enough that he won't need to upgrade for a few years; as well as, minimum maintance too. Please let me know what changes I should do, or if it good enough. Thank you.

Here’s what I’d say, better gpu that u can find on eBay for a good deal if you look online:

500$ is pretty tight so I hope it works. Intel is a bit touchy, but if he can figure out how to redownload drivers he’ll be fine

How are you with used?

Because a rx580 is a bit long in the teeth (helldivers doesnt run super great on it) and 80$ is a bit much when used they are cheaper too.

A 5700(xt) is a easy to get way faster option. But used.

However it can fit in budget.

Another great option is a full local used pc. 400-450 is A LOT for a complete used system. VERY easy to get a HIGH END system form a couple years ago or a upper medium from a year or 2.

FYI I’m not sure the Rx 580 can hit 60fps

He could fit a 6600 new if he stretches the budget right. Even used he can get a

way better than a 5700xt.

Ur right about the 580 tho

cheap and good used pcs are hard to find in some places (I’m looking at u sjærland)

I am okay buying used cpus, ram, and hard drives, everything else I'm cautious about. However, in this case, I might go fully used. The only listing I have thru Facebook locally is a HP Gaming TG01-0023w. According to the listing, it has a 11600k processor, 16gb of ram, and a 1650 super all for $300. I feel that's a heck of a deal. I am gonna sleep on that til tomorrow just in case. I did see a Rx 5700xt from power color for sale for under $130 total on eBay, but I was too late. Are there any lesser known GPUs from servers, workstations, or OEMS that are good deals too?

So I found a used HP gaming computer with supposedly a 11600k in it. The guy says it definitely has 16gb of ram and a super 1650 in it. All for $300 locally. I am gonna sleep on this til tomorrow to see. Otherwise, I take some stuff from the build you gave me. I found a ssd lying around that'll get him up and running for now. I will return the Rx 580 when it gets here. Thanks for the heads up there.

Id try for a 1660 at the least. A 1650 isnt better than a rx 580.

A 1650 is pretty strong, but if you sell it you can fit an a770 or Rx 6600xt. They’ll be so much more powerful.
