Budget (including currency): $1800 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming/Streaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I will be purchasing as soon as I can afford it, and I have the part list right HERE. BTW, I don't give a damn if Nvidia is better for streaming, AMD CPU and GPU only.

Which will be when? The parts that make sense can change from day to day, so longer than about a week a parts list recommendation doesn't really apply.

There are some things in this system that make no sense (the storage configuration, the fans, the cable U turn things, and the AM5 contact frame are the main ones), but to take the time to make a more valid list I'd want to be sure that you'd actually be buying within the week.

I'm gonna be getting a job sometime soon (Hopefully), and I'll be able to save a little bit for that PC. Again, hopefully. also, I'm getting those "useless" items because of these reasons:

Storage: I want a boot drive, I get that there is no point, but I want my OS and drivers on one drive, and my games and streaming apps on the 2TB

Fans: I'm maxing out the fans (8) and these are really nice fans, though I'll end up having an extra 2 fans, which isn't a bad thing if any of the other fans die on me or just start making weird noises

180 Degree GPU Adapters: Obviously, Cable management, duh

AM5 contact frame: I wanted to not have thermal paste spill over the edges, and its cool anyways.

250GB is next to nothing for a boot drive though, you will find yourself wanting more space. Even if you do go through with this plan (which I would recommend you don't), get at least a 500GB drive, especially since they're not much more expensive.

That wasn't the main reason I said that, it's more because the P12 Max, the upgraded version of the P12 that you're using, is $1 more for the 5 pack, so you might as well get the upgrade. Still, you don't need 8 fans for a system like this, the 5 is fine.

They don't really help with cable management though, plus most of the ones I'm aware of are built very poorly and I wouldn't trust them anyway.

The problem is it voids your warranty and can cause memory issues. On Intel it's worth is because of the large temperature improvement you get, but that improvement just doesn't exist on AM5 because the CPUs don't bend. Besides, it's not like thermal paste spilling over the edges is actually a bad thing, it's pretty expected and still pretty easy to clean off when you remove the CPU. If you really care  about it, get one of those foam thermal paste guards, though again, I will say they're a waste of money if you're not running liquid metal.

what do you mean "The problem is it voids your warranty", I'm curious now, how does it void my warranty? On my mobo I'm guessing?

Yeah, removing the ILM on the motherboard will void your warranty. You might still get it covered if you don't mention it, but it's just not worth the risk because there is no benefit from using these.

Yes, though as I said above, thermal paste getting on the edges really isn't that big a deal and it's $15 spent for nothing.

Okay! But other than that stuff, is it a good build?
