Dark Souls worth it?

Dark Souls is on sale now on Steam, though i heard it was a terrible PC port.  Just want to know if it is still enjoyable.

Also I know  GFWL is going away June 1. I really don't want to install that trash on my computer. So I will probably wait till then to play it.

Just want to know if its worth the $6 now.

If you have a good USB controller, absolutely.

Yeah I have a 360 controller as I see it strongly recommends lol 

Then go for it. 

I used this controller which mostly worked (buttons don't align with the X360 ones very well though):

With a controller and the dsfix mod it can be a pretty enjoyable experience, I recommend it.
